Salutations! I forgot to say in my last post that I have finally reached the two hundred follower mark *Thrilled* and now hyped up to reach the three hundred mark. :) So, today is the last day of New York Fashion Week, and tomorrow the beginning of London Fashion Week. After this, it always goes so fast... anyway, here is my last review of a New York Fashion Week collection, and it's a good 'un - Ralph Lauren Spring 2013 Pret-a-porter.
It was a quintessential Ralph Lauren collection, passing by a Spanish Bullfight. There were Swinging, brightly coloured or sophisticated black skirts, cordobes hats, jewel tones, and waterfall ruffles down shoulders and sleeves... with delicate pretty necklines encased in vintage collars and choker ribbons. Like many of his past collections, Ralph Lauren presented a very literal representation of his inspiration.
Like most Ralph Lauren collections, it comes across as inherrently sophisticated. High waists and sharp tailoring abounding, black lace and pretty blouses. Long, elegant, floating gowns and short, tasteful dresses, perfect for cocktail parties or afternoon tea.
As is often the case, the last pieces of the collection were the shout-out outfit. Gauzy whit ruffles delicately enveloping the figure, chaste white below-the-elbow blouse, statement black belt, black scarf tied trendily to the side and a black cordobe hat.
The collection finished on a high with a black and gold number. Stylish beret, dramatic toreador jacket with epaulettes, thick black belt and floorlength ruffled black skirt. Perfection!
So, it was quite a short review. I hope you liked the collection and appreciated the pictures of paintings which I feel relates to it.
